In keeping with Barack Obama's presidential campaign promise, the US has withdrawn its troops from Iraq and by the end of 2012 US spending in Iraq will be just five per cent of what it was at its peak in 2008. In a special two-part series, Fault Lines travels across Iraq to take the pulse of a country and its people after nine years of foreign occupation and nation-building. Now that US troops have left, how are Iraqis overcoming the legacy of violence and toxic remains of the US-led occupation, and the sectarian war it ignited? Is the country on the brink of irreparable fragmentation? Correspondent Sebastian Walker first went to Baghdad in June 2003 and spent the next several years reporting un-embedded from Iraq. In the second part of this Fault Lines series, he returns and travels from Erbil to Fallujah to find out what kind of future Iraqis are forging for themselves. After almost a decade the US war in Iraq is over. From Basra to Baghdad a new balance of power has emerged, but many people are living in precarity. We found it odd that the Colorado massacre occurred days before the UN small arms treaty vote that would in effect eventually ban guns in the United States. We found it predictable that Obama was screaming gun control before the victims were even in the ground. We found it predictable that Obama's surrogates were screaming the same, including Nanny Bloomberg and the gaggle of Lefties at MSNBC and all their clones throughout the mainstream media. Conspiracy theorists wondered whether the massacre was orchestrated by the government. Conspiracy theorists wondered if James Holmes was part of some type of CIA mind control program given that he appeared to be drugged during the preliminary hearing. His statements while behind bars that he had no idea why he was in jail were scoffed at by his jailers as trying to fake insanity; trying to fake amnesia. John Drew states unequivocally that Obama at this time was a fervent Marxist-Leninist that looked towards a literal proletariat revolution in the United States. Of course we know that President Obama has surrounded himself to the hilt with radicals that included openly communist Van Jones, who would have remained until this day if not for the likes of Glenn Beck and an army of bloggers that daily uncovered more and more of Jones' radical connections. But then the FBI deemed John Doe #2 to be a mass hallucination, despite dozens of witnesses seeing him, despite a man being beaten to death for looking like him. Well now we have a mirror image of this case with the Colorado massacre—that is, the complete reverse situation. There are witnesses who state James Holmes had an accomplice and both the local Aurora police and feds are ignoring this information.
