The Republican National Convention ends today, and it's been accompanied by tough talk on how to deal with China. The official Republican platform explicitly accuses China of being a currency manipulator, stealing US intellectual property, and discriminating against US companies. The platform says that a Republican president would stand up to China, even going so far as to say that if China doesn't follow WTO rules, "the United States government will end procurement of Chinese goods and services." But is this an accurate reflection of what Mitt Romney would be able to do if he is elected? Compared to President Obama, how tough would Romney be on China?
